![]() > Here is also a good video about the subject.<. I brienfly mentioned habit forming game mechanics before, now i want to expand on it. It breaks your mental barrier and It serves as a gateway to make you spend more money later down the line. In reality the sole purpose of Welkin is to trick your brain into thinking that it's ok to spend money on this game. What an amazing deal! You have to be stupid not to buy it! The real reason why they give us 3000 gems 'for only $5' Think you can farm up enough currency to hit another pity in that time?" - miHoYo "What's that? you didn't get char from the banner? ohh too bad man. Maybe if you look hard enough you will get enough for another 10 pull in a monthĢ months of doing chores gives you one 5* if you spend at least $5 a month. At endgame, farming those chests is literally impossible, too few respawns. If you are F2P, don't even think about it.ģ0 pulls if you save up all gems from welkin + dailies. How many pulls you can expect to get each month? So what it takes stupid amount of time to build characters who can complete it. Since it's reacurring source of gems they obviously had to half the gem reward per floor. Only challenging content happens in one room with same boring enemies we encounter everywhere lese. On average it takes around 75 pulls for a single 5*, double that for guaranteed character from a rate up banner It takes stupid amount of time to open enough chests for a single 10 pull. These chests also take days/weeks to respawnĬhests needed for 10 pull: "JUST SWIPE THE FUCKING CARD ALREADY!" - miHoYo And god forbid you open too many chests quickly or else your gem rewards is halved! I don't see many people talking about thisĮxcuse me but what the fuck? There are less than 20 known spawn locations for luxurious chests, that's enough for 1 pull. Lets talk about chests - another major source of currency in an endgame. Even when I add that sum up to gems I get from dailies I can't afford a single pull. I bought welkin which gives me 90 gems a day. I have to admit it, i'm not completely F2P. To add insult to the injury, 3 promo codes they gave way add up to 120 gems (60, 30, 30). Even the cheapest gem pack is not enough for a single damn pull even when accounting for double bonus for first time buyers. Even when being generous and assuming that each achievment gave me 10 gems, That's still only 1/3 way to a multi pull. I played for 1.5-2 weeks and I only got 68. Vast majority of achievments reward only 5 primogems, which is laughable. ![]() Milestone achievments that gonna take player days to get, reward max 1/10 of currency needed for a single pull. It can't be argued that 5* rates are ridiculously low, which is even more infuriating when we look at how stingy developers are with giving away premium currency. People are fighting for survival over here. Is how I would describe F2P experience of getting a pull currency. Establishing a habit out of a game is what makes it the most profitable. ![]() And those that are not - farming non resin bosses and world materials in particular, are time gated to make you come back daily, further establishing Genshi Impact as player's daily routine. Most mechanics that are tied to a player progression are designed to make player spend money. Gacha is crippling to a game, but unlike other games in this genre, here it is even more apparent. Gacha is predatory by nature, it exploits human psychology for the gain of tycoons in the glass towers. ![]() ![]() Game that's from its core was designed to extract as much money from players as possible. What exactly new players are getting themselves into? And inform newcommers what they are getting themselves into The goal of this post is to list all major recurring sources of gems, put those numbers into perspective and shed light on ungly, predatory nature of GI. It's certenly more useful than flooding this subreddit with memes & fanart and can potentially provoke a response from the developers. I know there were plenty of posts about this very topic, however I believe, no matter how many times this was posted before, we should keep on going. ![]()
